November 2017
BioBridge has supported British Antarctic Survey’s DATA AS ART project by buying one of the photographic artworks, Volcanic Ash. It shows a section of ice core from James Ross Island, Antarctica, from a depth of almost 280m, over  900 feet. The vertical dark stripe, visible in the centre, is a layer of volcanic ash embedded in the ice. DATA AS ART celebrates BAS science at the poles, NERC-funded research and highlight NERC’s 50th anniversary year.

The 2nd General Assembly of the European Marine Biological Research Infrastructure Cluster  was held in Faro, Portugal.
Meredith was invited to join the GA and present on the outputs and follow-on projects of the EC-funded PharmaSea project

Meredith represented and presented PharmaSea at a well-attended EFIB.  PharmaSea held a full day conference ‘Building Blue Biotech Capacity in Europe’ at EFIB 2014.

The PharmaSea project’s 2nd General Assembly at the Stazione Zoologica ‘Anton Dohrn’ in Naples, Italy, 7– 9 Sept 2014. Part of the meeting is open to potential end users and other parties with an interest in the discovery of new chemical entities from marine microorganisms with potential pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical or nutraceutical applications.
